In continuation of the Tanjore Painting class in the Berkley Elementary school it was decided to have an exhibition of the paintings (Both Priya's and the children's) in the Indian Consulate, New York on the occasion of the children's day. Priya also gifted one of her paintings to the consulate which is currently displayed in the Consulate.

In continuation of my efforts in popularizing art of Tanjore paintings, I was invited to provide a demonstration of how the paintings are created. As part of the Meeting God, Elements of Hindu Devotion's public program, I  demonstrated the art of Tanjore Paintings at
The American Museum of Natural History, New York on Sunday September 30th, 2001 (1-4pm).

I was featured by one of the Malayali sites for my Tanjore and Stained Glass paintings.

As a follow up to the teaching and the resulting creative work of the students, the Westwood school decided to organize an exhibition of the painting in the local park. Proud parents and local people visited the exhibition and expressed their appreciation of the whole effort. The local papers and the TV station covered this event

With my husband and close family friend, Meraj Beg, We came up with an idea to create a site where we could list the facts which made us Proud to be Indians. The site, www.ProudToBeIndian.com  was launched on Jan 26, 1999
